    FAQ

    What is a zine?

Fanzines, short for fanmade magazines- are collections of unofficial, self-published media such as artwork and writing from multiple creators alike focused on a certain topic.

How many contributors will you be accepting?

We hope to accept up to 50 page artists, 10 merch artists, 5 writers, and spot artists equal to the number of accepted writers.

The main promo kids majorly feature in the Coroika manga. Will they be included in this zine?

No, this is not a Coroika zine. We would like to refrain from portraying the characters with the dynamics and characterization present in the manga. There are a handful of exceptions of Coroika characters that were shown in official Splatoon promotional material, and you may vote in the Interest Check on whether or not to include these characters.

What kind of works will be included in the zine?

We plan to include page and spread illustrations, comics, writing and spot art, as well as digital and flat physical merchandise such as stickers and postcards.Page, spread, and comic art may be digital, 3D, and/or traditional. Traditional art must be scanned or be well photographed. Comics may be up to 6 pages in length. Written works will be limited to 3,500 words.

Do I need prior experience to apply?

Nope! We will be evaluating all applications on portfolios alone. For more information, check out the App Info section.

The agents also show up in promo material, will they be included?

Yes! But keep in mind that they will not be the focus of this zine. We're aiming to give a spotlight more to characters from social media posts, to splatfests, to direct trailers, and more, rather than strongly popular characters such as the Agents. We strongly recommend for you to find other zines focused around single player campaigns!
